Nakupenda Juliet and her unborn child

Juliet Kavinga was murdered last May when she was carrying a seven month old baby. I knew her; she was funny, happy and spoke English with a clicking sound that she makes in her own language. We used to sit together for hours as she braided my hair. She used to tell me stories about her life in Africa and we laughed a lot.

I was sitting in my sofa when I saw her face on the TV. Murdered, pregnant and dumped into a lake, she had been dead for over a year. Her friends say that she was proud of her pregnancy and flaunted it. Happy and in love! Now the father of the unborn child is arrested. He initially admitted to being the father, and then denied it. Now DNA tests have shown that he is the father.

Juliets friends in Sweden started to gather money to send her and her baby to be buried in Kenya. If more money than necessary is gathered for the transport the money will go to build Juliet’s mother a house.

I hope Juliet suffered as little as possible and that she is with her baby, where ever they may be!
